Touring through Wales

Our next stop was nearby Conwy Castle. It is very impressive as you can see! This was one of Edward 1 chain of castles built during his 'hostile takeover' of Wales starting in 1277. He built new castles or refurbished existing castles following the Welsh wars of independence with 17 castles in this area.
